Summer Fun!

The summer was about the Fam.

Marshall and Katie found their "forever home" in late June and we discovered that driving halfway and meeting Katie was the easiest way to pick up the kids while they got their current house ready to show, had open houses and then scheduled moving days.  We've enjoyed a few of these sleepovers this summer.

All 3 Goodletts went to Kamp Kanakuk in mid-June.  Campbell had been in 2018 and 2019 -- but the pandemic kept her at home last year.  She was able to return for two weeks of camp this year and Jack and Sydney had their first one week sleep away experience.

CoVID came to Kamp and Campbell tested positive and had to come home from camp a day early.  Their family missed a vacation to Turks and Caicos. Mommy and daddy were quarantined with Campbell and Sydney and Jack stayed with us.

Jack helped me make homemade ice cream on the kids first night of "stay-away" camp

Jack's question to Sydney on the way to Church - "Sydney, would you rather be quarantined with Campbell or stay with Nana and Pawpaw?"  They both agreed they wanted to be home.  They missed their mom and daddy so much during those 4 days.  Being so close to home and not able to go there was the worst part.

Every summer we have One-day Specials with each g'kid.

Sydney Day we shopped for fabric, ate lunch out at Taco Bell and Sydney sewed her own pj's.

Jack Day - we Leggo shopped at Walmart, ate Sonic with Pawpaw and he made his own pj pants.  His special treat was the teepee he and Pawpaw started.  They have talked this project through all summer.
Jack:  "Pawpaw, this is man's work -- we can't let the girls or babies work on it."  He loved using the power drill.

Campbell Day - she and I spent the morning at Utica Square having Starbucks, shopping for school tops, eating lunch at Q'doba and then she came home with me to earn $$$ (we overspent on her shopping).  Campbell cleaned and made the yummiest pound cake.

Both Families had great vacations.

Bethany and Campbell went to a LaCrosse tournament in Colorado Springs

Bethany, Mat and the Goodletts spent five days in Crested Butte right before the start of school

Marshall and Katie traveled to Traverse City Michigan - working in time-away in the midst of moving, kids starting school and Marshall's busy call schedule.

School Starts   Edmond - Aug 12

Calvin's sign:  "Holding a sign cause the other two kids held a sign."

Jenks - August 18

. . . . and to wrap up the summer we celebrated Mat's 45th!

Celebrations

We start each year of family celebrations with Charlie's birthday in mid-March.  This year he got to celebrate it in North Carolina with his cousins.  Great Uncle David and Aunt Dolly joined in on the fun and it was a perfect family trip!!!  --- SO SORRY TO MISS OUT ON THE FUN.

Easter weekend we celebrated a wonderful resurrection service at Redeemer Covenant with Bethany and Mat and brunched in their lovely outdoor dining room.

Bethany's birthday came shortly after. . . .

Her 3 kiddos decorated her cake . . .

May 3rd we celebrated Calvin's 2nd birthday and

Mother's Day weekend, Campbell was baptized by her Pawpaw at Redeemer Covenant.  The perfect way to celebrate Mother's Day by her giving her life to Jesus.

Clara wrapped up her gymnastics with a trophy . . .

Charlie received the Eagle Award at Oklahoma Christian for his kindness and scholarship.

Jack received the Trojan award the last day of school.  His service to others is noted by all.

Campbell was chosen to speak at her 4th-grade Graduation at Jenks Southeast.   Next year she will be at Jenks Intermediate for 5th grade.

June 11 Campbell and I celebrated our birthdays before the 3 Goodletts headed to Camp Kanakuk. Campbell celebrated hers at Camp on Monday 6/14.
